Two weeks ago, we spoke at Vineyard Reynoldsburg (Nathan's parents' church). Before the service started, we were pretty nervous, but once things got going and we realized people were excited to be hearing about it (which is always encouraging), our nerves calmed down. It was amazing to see who God was going to place on our team before we ever knew. We want to say a huge THANK YOU to those who chose to join our support team and be a part of this vision. It's an honor to be a part of this adventure together. We can't wait to actually be in Monterrey and send back pictures, videos, and updates of how every one of you individually is helping influence and change lives through your prayers and support.
This past Sunday, we had the opportunity to be a part of our church's service at the NorthGate. To say the least, it was such an exciting day. We were incredibly touched by the stories people shared and the hugeness of others' hearts. I know this is only going to build suspense, so I apologize, but we'll have more on the presentation at the NorthGate in the blog post to follow. :) God is expanding our view of Him and breaking our little boxes that we try to put Him in far too often. We saw this firsthand when Whitney and our good friend Jenn were asked to be part of the worship set for Sunday's service.
We're excited to say that we are currently at 43% of our monthly budget raised! We're reminded daily by the promise that what God has called, He will provide for.
Neither of them had ever sung or played the guitar in front of that many people, let alone doing it in another language (good practice for the future though). All Whitney could talk about after that morning was how amazed she was by how much you HAVE to depend on God when you do anything outside your comfort zone or "simple ability." The theme of the service was "if you want to see God show up, then you must be willing to take risks." He WILL show up.
